Fun Factory
- For children with profound and multiple needs
- When: Saturdays (fortnightly), 10:00am-1:00pm
- Where: 38 Walnut Close, Chelmsley Wood, Birmingham, B37 7PU
A calm, caring space where children with profound and multiple needs can relax, explore, and enjoy their Saturday in a way that suits them. Fun Factory is designed to provide a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, supported, and fully included.
Running during term time from 10:00am-1:00pm at our SoLO house in Walnut Close, this three-hour session gives children the time and space to unwind after the week while engaging in meaningful, enjoyable activities.
With dedicated 1:1 staffing ratios, our specially trained team works closely with each child and their family to support individual goals set when joining SoLO. Every session is thoughtfully structured to balance gentle routine with flexibility, ensuring each child can participate in a way that feels right for them.
Activities include arts and crafts, baking, dressing up, sensory play, and outdoor activities, all carefully adapted to meet a wide range of needs and preferences. While Fun Factory welcomes all ages, children are supported within age-appropriate groups. As they move into secondary education, we provide tailored support to help ease this transition, aligning with SoLO’s holiday programmes.
At Fun Factory, every child is encouraged to build confidence, express themselves, and simply enjoy being part of a warm, understanding community.
This session is subsidised by SMBC as part of our Targeted Community Short Breaks for children and young people with disabilities contract. To obtain further information regarding costs and service eligibility, please click here.
