About our Charity
Founded in 2000, Social Life Opportunities is a registered charity (no.1102297) that supports children, young people and adults with learning disabilities.
200 staff plus 100 volunteers
We employ 200 highly trained individuals, all dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of our service users. Concurrently, we maintain a pool of volunteers, all of whom have undergone comprehensive enhanced DBS checks and training. Many of our volunteers join us with the aim of gaining valuable career experience, and a substantial number of them continue their journey with us for extended periods, driven by their genuine enthusiasm and enjoyment.
“I am and always have been over the moon with SoLO and how you all work with my daughter. She loves every minute!”

Over 1,000 service users
Annually, we provide support to more than 1,000 individuals living with learning disabilities. Our dedicated presence extends across two distinct venues, one in Solihull and another in Chelmsley Wood. Complementing these establishments, we maintain three supported living houses, where our expert staff work diligently to empower tenants, fostering their independence.
Other regular activity centres
To provide the best experience for those using our services, we also utilise outside facilities to run some regular activities. These include the Hatchford Brook Youth Club, Castle Bromwich Youth Club and the Meriden Park Adventure playground in Chelmsley Wood, along with a number of public activity centres.
Huge range of services
Over the years our range of services has grown. Please explore our services pages; Children and Young People, Adults and Community to find out which might be of interest to you or someone you know.
